Basin-scale IWRM programs across major catchments — Athi, Tana, Ewaso Ng'iro, Rift Valley and Lake Victoria — combining climate-resilient infrastructure, community data and policy reform. Four new legislative frameworks and counting.
How we work
CESPAD uses Integrated Water Resources Management to connect the people, institutions and ecosystems that share a catchment. The approach brings communities, WRUAs, county governments and water agencies into a common planning process.
That shared evidence is then used to identify priorities, coordinate public investment, strengthen accountability and monitor whether water resources are being managed sustainably.
Multi-stakeholder catchment platforms that bring county governments, WRUAs and communities together around shared basin management plans.
Water Resource Users Associations and county water offices strengthened through governance, monitoring and financial management frameworks.
Blended public, donor and private finance directed at climate-resilient water infrastructure and basin restoration.
